A lot of us—particularly those of us who are married with children and sympathetic to the breaking up of families—have labeled Angelina Jolie as a man thief, husband stealer, home wrecker, and a lot of nastier names. (OK, I admit it—I had a poster of her in my dorm from a magazine that read, “Ultimate Badass.”) We love to hate people who seem to ruin other people’s lives, though we usually don’t know the full story and really shouldn’t judge. After all, we all do bad things, make mistakes, and have regrets. The tabloids are even currently having a field day with Jolie and rumors about her hooking up with actor Johnny Depp.
Now, according to biographer Jenny Paul, it has emerged that Jolie may have either broken up—or contributed to the breaking up, after all, since the man involved is equally to blame as well—several other celebrity marriages before her latest stint as the second half of Brangelina.
Paul, author of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie: The True Story, claims that Jolie slept with none other than the Rolling Stones leading man, Mick Jagger, who is 32 years older than Jolie.
As Mercury News reports, “If you know any good jokes about two people with abnormally large lips making out, please have them handy.”
And at the time of the supposed hookup, he was still married to model Jerry Hall. It occurred, says Paul, in 1997, a time during which Jolie was starring in the Rolling Stones’ video for the song, “Anybody Seen My Baby?” At the time, Jolie herself was also married to someone else—British actor Jonny Lee Miller.
The two even repeated the affair, claims Paul, in 2003, when Jolie was in the middle of divorcing actor Billy Bob Thornton and Jagger was married to designer L’Wren Scott. Paul claims that this time, the two were spotted rendezvousing at Jagger’s hotel in Bangkok, Thailand.
Perhaps he wasn’t sleeping with her, though; maybe he was just giving her some of Keith Richard’s magical elixir to keep her young and beautiful.
Either way, why should we really give a damn? Yes, humans love gossip and celebrities provide it by the pound, but the real victims in these situations are usually the poor kids who have to deal with it all. After all, what do you expect when you marry Mick Jagger, Angelina Jolie, or any other superstar?
